Washington Mall Interactive Map
Touch Graphics, Inc. is working on an interactive three-dimensional touchable model of the National Mall and Memorial Parks in Washington DC. The model, which is being considered for public display at the Smithsonian Castle on the Mall, provides verbal identification and description for each of the monuments, buildings and streets at the heart of the nation’s capital. In addition, a menu system permits users to scroll through a list of everything shown on the model, and then select one to have his or her finger led to that place through a process of audio coaching.
This project is being carried out in collaboration with the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Universal Design at the University of Buffalo, and the Smithsonian Institution. Please check back often to find out about our progress!

3D Warehouse is an open-source initiative to build detailed models of famous buildings, which are then uploaded and placed in context on Google Earth. Building models can be downloaded, modified, and output to a 3D printer to create universally accessible interactive displays
