Touch the Sun is a tactile book that includes 16 tactile images overlaying four-color silk screened images of photographs taken by the SOHO space telescope (see image at left, one of the photographs from the book). Because of our reputation for creating very high quality tactile images using sophisticated CAD/CAM techniques, Joseph Henry Press, the publisher of Touch the Sun, commissioned Touch Graphics to carry out design and execution of the tactile images.

The 16 images of the book will include tactile images embossed onto a silk screen-printed vinyl. We use a variety of tactile conventions, including lines raised to widely varying heights, textures, patterns, and Braille labels. These tactile images will be part of a 70 page book about the sun, written by Noreen Grice and printed in Braille.
