Touch Graphics is exploring new technologies for making museum exhibits, buildings, and public spaces more accessible for all disabled persons (including blind and low vision visitors).

Talking Tactile Models will allow visitors to interact through a combination of listening, looking, and touching. We have developed a new electronic device that is capable of detecting when a person touches any parts on a metal model; this information is sent to a computer, which then plays back audio information that identifies the part that was touched.

The model can also provide unlimited information, including historical overviews, guided tours, or an alphabetical index of the parts of the model, from which the user can select something of interest, and then have his or her hand coached to the place on the model where that part can be found.

These models will be made of durable, weather-resistant metal. Due to the new production methods being developed by Touch Graphics, we will be able to offer custom accessible models at reasonable prices. Please contact us if you are interested or would like additional information!
